The Duo Xylophone features an innovative design, with half of its notes made from aluminium and the other half from GRP in a purple-heart wood colour. These materials produce distinct sounds – aluminium offers a bright, clear tone, while GRP provides a fast and punchy sound.

The notes of the Duo are wire and string-free, securely attached to a high-density polyethylene backboard. Beneath the notes, black anodised aluminium resonators offer maximum vibration, remarkable resonance, and durability. Each resonator is capped with a polyurethane rain baffle for added protection. Stainless steel security fixings prevent vandalism and theft.

If you prefer a different note material, you can request the Duo with either all aluminium or all GRP notes.

The curved design of the Duo is not only stylish but also practical. It accommodates individuals with limited mobility and those in wheelchairs, making all notes accessible. It allows for music-making without direct eye contact, benefiting those on the autistic spectrum, who may find eye contact challenging. Two people can comfortably interact and create music together.

C Major Pentatonic (C4-C6): The Duo is a unique instrument with an ergonomic curved design. Accessible from both sides, it can accommodate up to four players. Tuned to the pentatonic scale in C major, the left and right sides mirror each other, spanning two octaves from C4 to C6.

Installation Options:

• Ground Fix Installation: Requires digging a hole to securely install the instrument posts directly into the ground to be concreted in.

• Surface Fix Installation: Ideal for areas where ground digging is not possible (e.g., concrete or expensive surfacing). Surface plates are provided, allowing easy fixing or drilling with suitable ground anchors (bolts or fixings not supplied) for a quick solution. Specify your preferred installation type when ordering.
